Elise and Suzannah first met on Tinder, where Elise was Suzannah’s first and only date. Elise had made it clear that she wanted a proposal in New Orleans, so when they planned a trip spontaneously, Suzannah knew she had to pop the question while they were there. Suzannah took a bottle of wine to Audubon Park and proposed on a bench in front of a herd of ducks, and she said yes! After the proposal was some more surprises such as close friends and a full parade in the French Quarter complete with parasols, brass band, police escorts, and her parents! Elise was stunned, and it was a day they’ll never forget.
Fast forward to their wedding day, and we have come to find that Suzannah admires that Elise is emotionally intelligent and patient, an academic that has a curiosity to learn and absorb information continuously and that she has beautiful tattoos with an incredible sense of style. Elise loves that Suzannah is a talented artist, passionate, hardworking, and always able to make her laugh at any given moment. Together, they like to hang out with their dog, host friends in their home, and explore neighborhood restaurants and bars.
The couple has an incredibly diverse collection of friends from all kinds of creative fields, and we witnessed this during their unique wedding where they made their own personal traditions. Their ceremony is one that they designed for themselves with flower men in lieu of flower girls and Elise’s dad, Glen played a meaningful, yet heartfelt song for the wedding to kick off the night! We were happy to witness an eclectic group of friends and family come together for a beautiful celebration at one of our favorite venues, Cheney Mansion in Oak Park.
