Chris and Megan got married at Cheney Mansion in Oak Park, Illinois—one of our favorite venues! The venue is reminiscent of a gracious English country home and was designed in 1913 by Charles E. White, Jr., a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. This 12,000-square-foot mansion boasts many handsome reception rooms, six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and separate servants’ quarters. The two acres of beautifully landscaped grounds also include a coach house and greenhouse. We couldn’t have photographed a more beautiful wedding than at this venue!
We took engagement photos for the couple in Downtown Oak Park and Forest Park earlier this year and now we are excited to have seen them both exchange vows in front of their closest family and friends. Chris and Megan were neighbors in Brooklyn, New York and met through mutual friends in 2007 at a poker game and now they both live in California where Chris is studying for his PhD in Geography and Megan works from home. Chris and Megan both adore each other’s sense of humor, honesty and caring nature. They are also the most relaxed couple we have ever met as well! They love to explore the outdoors, attend concerts, watch movies and watch reruns of Twin Peaks. They were excited to be able to celebrate their special day with the important people in their lives. The unique details of their wedding mixed navy and ivory cream with berry and green accents for the decor and personalized playing cards for favors. The wedding party was small and intimate with two on each side (friend and sister-in-law for Megan and brother and bride’s brother for Chris) and the wedding guests were fun, vivacious and friendly. We were honored to be apart of their big day!
Congratulations Chris and Megan!
